AOC Gets Fact-Checked After She Tries to Make Herself Look More Important than Manchin

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) loves to pretend as though she’s more important than other members of Congress. So, she decided to say that she represents more people than Joe Manchin. It was the only way that she could feel as though she had the upper hand, even though Manchin single-handedly killed the Build Back Better plan.

Let’s first look at the two individuals. AOC is a Representative. Manchin is a Senator. Per the Constitution, the Senate is the upper House of Congress. Therefore, a Senator is a higher level than a Representative. Senators represent an entire state while Representatives only represent a district.

Still, AOC is in New York and Manchin is in West Virginia. Surely, that gives AOC more power, right? Only if you’re able to follow her extremely liberal thinking.

“I represent more, or just as many or more people than Manchin does.” This is what the NY Representative from the Bronx actually had the audacity to announce on an MSNBC “Morning Joe” interview. She was upset because Manchin wouldn’t support the bill.

She went on to say that “it’s a farce” that he wouldn’t be able to explain his support of the bill to the people back home. She felt that since he represents more people, it’s ridiculous for him to make such a claim.

This is where AOC clearly spoke before thinking…or at least spoke before bothering to look at populations. Perhaps if she were to stay in her lane as a Representative more, she’d stop getting egg on her face.

AOC is the Representative for the 14th congressional district of New York. It is inclusive of parts of two boroughs of New York City, Bronx and Queens. The population according to the census was 696,664.

Now, Manchin is a Senator who represents the entire state of West Virginia. Again, according to the census, the population is 1,793,716.

Math may not be AOC’s strong point, but the number of constituents that Manchin has to explain things to is an entire digit longer than AOC’s number. Even if you were to split Manchin’s number in half since there’s another Senator (Capito, who is also a Republican), it’s still more than who AOC is representative of.

This is just AOC being petty. She’s upset because he killed the Build Back Better plan because this was her hope of getting the country closer to the socialism that she’s wanted all along. Let’s not forget that she’s not a member of the Democratic Party. She’s a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. She’s interested in a progressive agenda that means that a lot of money is spent on various programs so that Americans can grow increasingly more dependent on the federal government.

If the Build Back Better plan were the amazing plan that the Democrats want to make it out to be, it would have bipartisan support. However, it doesn’t. 51 senators opposed it. Only 49 senators were in favor of it. And why? It was just too darn expensive – and the financial repercussions were significantly more than even Biden wanted to admit.

If America is going to build back better, it has to be a bipartisan effort.

And now that AOC has been fact-checked, perhaps she’ll realize that she isn’t as important as she thinks she is.
