Oregon Students Get Ready to Learn About LGBT Romance…at the Age of Nine

When we send our kids to school, we expect them to learn about math, reading, writing, and even a little history thrown in there for good measure. By the fourth grade, kids are learning to read chapter books. Depending on the curriculum, their books may include such classics as “James and the Giant Peach” or even “Island of the Blue Dolphins.”

What we don’t expect them to be reading, especially courtesy of the school library, is bisexual, gay, and lesbian romance. Yet, that’s exactly what Oregon is introducing.

Your naïve nine-year-old may be introduced to all sorts of new and exciting reads thanks to the Queer & Sexuality Alliance (QSA) club, which is being introduced at Raleigh Hills Elementary School.

It’s an unthinkable club that is being offered, and if you’re upset about it, just wait until you hear more about what’s going on at this school in Beaverton, Oregon.

The QSA has plans to explore “LGBTQ+ history and activism.” There will be a study of transgender and queer issues, and grade-schoolers will gain access to all sorts of new and exciting reading material. They’ll have the chance to talk about identity and gender as well as equal rights and social issues.

Essentially, this club is designed to turn a bunch of elementary school children into future advocates for the LGBTQ+ community.

Keep in mind, this club is available to those who are in fourth and fifth grade. The school sees absolutely no issue with showing this kind of sexually charged material to nine and ten-year-old children.

Some schools are trying to keep sex education out of the schools so that it’s an issue that is presented to children by their parents. Then, there’s Oregon which will show kids that they have choices. Hey, look, kids…we know you don’t know what sex is, but guess what? You can have sex with anyone you want, regardless of their gender. And come to think of it, you don’t even need to identify as your current gender. You can be any gender you want.

That’s not really the kind of lesson that should be taught in school. In fact, it’s not really a lesson that any child needs to hear, regardless of the location. And, it most certainly shouldn’t be funded with taxpayer dollars.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when Democratic cities and states decide to take a jump to the far left. They decide that it’s their job to teach kids anything and everything that they might need to know about how to function in society. And if they screw kids up in the process, well, that falls to the parents. Yet, most parents don’t even know what their kids are being exposed to in schools these days.

We’re seeing issues like this pop up everywhere. Vermont made front-page news last fall when they handed out condoms to 11-year-olds. And Nebraska has made headlines when they taught gender identity to kindergarteners.

Is this what today’s education looks like? Parents are fuming. One parent found out that her daughter signed up for the club without parental permission. Another said, “I lost it…why would the school target fourth and fifth graders?”

That’s a great question…and one the liberals don’t really want to answer.
