Everybody’s seen the crazy guy with the cardboard signs, yelling on a street corner about “the end is nigh.” And chances are, you brush it off, but you probably have that little nagging feeling in the back of your mind telling you that someday, that guy giving out tin-foil hats is going to be right. Particularly if you’re of some of the most common religious affiliations, you have to believe that the end is getting closer every day. The question we need to answer is: just how fast is it coming at us?

Well, brace yourself, because whether you think we should be laying on the horn and pumping the brakes to get ready to slide into our final destination or you think that there is still a lot of work left to be done on Earth, there are about to be an awful lot of people about to believe that the Devil is upon us, and he’s coming to the size of a grain of rice.

According to a report in The Blaze, the future has arrived in the form of an implantable microchip that has been in development for quite some time, and can be implanted into the hand between the thumb and index finger, and can carry all sorts of data, including – you guessed it – info about your coronavirus vaccination status.

Metro reported that the former conspiracy theories could be taking real shape after the tech company pushed the idea that the microchip could serve as a COVID-19 passport. The Swedish company, Epicenter, specializes in implantable technology. In this case, the chip is about the size of a grain of rice and is being used by some larger companies like key cards to open doors, access public transportation, or even to have debit card info implanted on it with the company saying that. “According to digital cultures researcher Moa Petersen, around 6,000 people in the country have so far had a chip inserted in their hands.”

The Stockholm-based Epicenter has worked on using the coronavirus vaccine passport:

“A start-up hub in Sweden has showcased a new use for its microchip implants: your Covid-19 vaccination passport,” the South China Morning Post reported. “The company Epicenter plans to market the versatility of the technology it spent years developing. The chips use Near-field communication (NFC), which can communicate with any NFC-capable smartphone. The company says the procedure is entirely reversible.”

Epicenter’s “Chief Disruption Officer” Hannes Sjoblad demonstrated that the subdermal implant offered COVID-19 vaccination certification in the SCMP video, which was uploaded to Twitter just days ago.

“Implants are very versatile technology that can be used for many different things, and right now it is very convenient to have COVID passport always accessible on your implant,” Sjoblad told Ruptly last week. “In case your phone runs out of battery, it’s always accessible to you,” he continued. “So of course, that’s how we use this technology today, next year we are going to use it for something else.”

However, not everyone is thrilled at these so-called technological advances. Young Americans for Liberty tweeted, “It’s just 6 feet. It’s just a mask. It’s just 15 days to slow the spread. It’s just a lockdown. It’s just a vaccine mandate. It’s just a microchip implanted in your arm.”

If we ever thought those right-wing conspiracy theorists may have been onto something, it’s now. This is the time where we may even ask ourselves, is the world really spinning, are they right about the world being flat? I mean hey, they’re 4 for 4 at the moment. But, let’s not get bogged down.

Events are taking place that even have the atheists reading the end of the good book. No matter how this plays out, we know where we’re going, how about you?
