Trump Calls for New Technology

President Trump wants the United States to be the leader in the latest technology. His goal is for other countries to look on this nation as a country they want to get behind and emulate. Being the patriot he is, our president doesn’t want technology for the government alone, but for citizens as well.

Hot Points

  • The President is calling upon the wireless technology companies to bring this request into reality. He took to Twitter to make his position clear, saying, “I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible. It is far more powerful, faster and smarter than the current standard. American companies must set up their efforts, or get left behind. There is no reason we should be lagging behind on ….something that is so obviously the future. I want the United States to win through competition, not by blocking out currently more advanced technologies. We must always be the leader in everything we do, especially when it comes to the very exciting world of technology!”
  • The communication carriers are currently working on the advanced network of 5G right now. South Korea and China are working tirelessly to release the new 5G network, but this will probably won’t be a reality until 2020. 5G technology will have faster speeds and prepare the framework for more advanced technology in the future.
  • Jessica Rosenworcel, the commissioner of the Federal Communications Commision states that, “No one knows yet what 6G will entail,” and she continued, “ The sixth generation of wireless service will feature terahertz-frequency networks and spatial multiplexing.” Right now, the 5G network is only available through certain wireless carriers.
  • The CTIA, the organization that which represents the U.S. wireless communications industry is very happy about the President’s latest tweet. They responded by saying, “ We share the President’s commitment to leading the world in next-generation 5G wireless. Thanks to the innovation, hard work and investment of America’s wireless industry, the first commercial 5G deployments are happening now, in communities across the country.”
  • President Trump wants to make this country the best it can be and he is making every effort to make this possible while he is in a position to do so.
