Michigan County Board Approves Governor Whitmer Impeachment Resolution
(UnitedVoice.com) â Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) is one of the most controversial state executives in the country. Her persistent COVID-19 lockdowns is said to have caused an incredible amount of pain in her state. The way she handled them is why sheâs now facing impeachment.
On Friday, November 20, the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners voted to introduce an impeachment resolution for Whitmer. Commissioner David Comai said the executive orders the governor has signed to impose restrictions on state residents are âunconstitutionalâ and are to blame for the poor economy in the county.
State Reps. Daire Rendon, Beau LaFave, and Matt Maddock introduced the resolution because they believe Whitmer has acted corruptly. Maddock recently praised the people who support the effort.
Michiganders have been beaten down for too long. Restaurants losing dine-in customers watching their lifeâs work circle the drains. Thank you to my fellow legislators who are calling for impeachment hearings of @GovWhitmer #FreeMichigan #ImpeachWhitmer #MILEG @realDonaldTrump

The commissioners voted 4-2 to pass the impeachment resolution. Now, it will go to state lawmakers where theyâll decide whether to bring it forward.
