The Pick Is In! Harris Gets the Nod
(UnitedVoice.com) – On Tuesday, August 11, Joe Biden made his final decision on a running mate. The decision may come as a surprise to some.
Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) has been chosen as Biden’s VP. If he’s elected, Harris will be the first woman, the first Black woman, and the first Asian to ever hold the office of the vice presidency.
Choosing Harris gives the Biden ticket another generational perspective. She’s just 55, while Biden will be 78 on Inauguration Day. Many people believe he’d serve only one term if elected, so Harris would be on the fast-track to the presidency. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities that she would have to take over for him before the end of his first term.

Biden was warned by many in the Black Lives Matter movement that he had to pick a Black woman as his running mate — and he did.
Harris, who often behaves like a bit of an attack dog, is popular with the Democratic base, but not so much with the Progressive wing of the party. It’ll be interesting to see if she can generate enough energy with Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren voters.
